Biblical Studies Concentration

Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries (Four-Year Degree) – 130 credits

The Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries with a concentration in Biblical Studies is a four-year program that is designed to prepare the student for teaching positions in the biblical/theological fields in a church ministry and for further graduate studies in biblical/theological fields.The program not only equips the student academically, but also is designed to prepare the student spiritually and practically with various Christian service requirements and mentoring opportunities. This program specializes in providing opportunities for practical experience and training in the student’s chosen career focus.

Graduates in the Biblical Studies Concentration will:
  1. Be able to identify the unique contributions of each biblical book and recognize the purpose, style, and form of each biblical genre.
  2. Be able to properly exegete any passage of Scripture.
  3. Be able to contextualize Scripture for daily Christian living.
  4. Develop a personal mission statement applying Scriptural principles.
  5. Demonstrate an ability to apply biblical teaching in the development of Christian ethics.
  6. Develop a lifestyle of personal study of the Scriptures in order to promote growth, ministry to others, and a positive influence on culture.
  7. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of core Christian theology, philosophy, and values.
  8. Be able to demonstrate an ability to comprehend and construct sound Christian theology.
